gift guide: the best books for everyone on your list

Wednesday, November 22, 2017
I am so happy that it is gift guide season and gift giving season. My friends will tell you that I start thinking about Christmas gifts and what the perfect gift for everyone on my list will be in September, sometimes even August if I have more on my list for Patrick for his birthday than I plan to get him at once.

Staying true to form, I made my holiday gift giving spreadsheet on November 1 and I have already knocked out a ton of shopping for this holiday season. But this year, I am a Barnes & Noble member for the first time, so I have been trying to think of as many excuses to buy books for friends and family as I can. (I cannot help myself, honestly.)

There are very few people in the world – in my opinion, anyway – who wouldn't benefit from getting a book as a gift for Christmas or any other holiday. Even for the people who swear they don't read. Patrick and I do the four-gift rule each year and get each other something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read. Picking out a book for him is always fun.

My recommendation: Go to Barnes & Noble and sign up for a membership, and then buy all of your books at once – or wait for some great coupons to come out! I love my membership (and this is not #sponsored, even!) and it has been totally worth it for myself and for gift-giving.

And that's my book gift guide! I am really excited for a few weeks of gift guides coming in the next few weeks as we lead up to the holidays. Who are you having the most trouble buying gifts for? I am actually having a really easy time with most of the people on my list but can't decide what would be the perfect gift for my goddaughter and her brother! They are sweet little things and I love picking out the perfect toys for them... but there is so much to choose from!
